CAREier today named internationally recognized healthcare expert Matthew Swindells to its advisory board. Swindells possesses decades of global healthcare experience and is a recognized healthcare IT and population health visionary. His addition will help guide CAREier’s commercial launch and rapid expansion into markets across the globe. Swindells brings to CAREier a distinguished background, combining experience in government, commercial, provider, and consulting arenas.

Matthew is the chair of north west London’s four acute NHS trusts. Currently leading the largest hospital chain in England and representing twelve hospitals. Additionally, he heads MJS Healthcare Consulting, where he provides strategic advice on designing, delivering, and using disruptive technology. The main aim is to improve healthcare services for governments, public, and private sector organizations around the world.

Prior, he served as deputy chief executive of NHS England. Matthew drove modernization and performance improvement across the organization through the development of transformative information and IT strategies. He also implemented transitions to population health and innovative clinical programs.

He also has served as senior vice president for Cerner, the world’s largest dedicated healthcare IT company, leading business across twenty-one countries and working with health systems worldwide.

Swindells launched his career in the NHS where he held positions that included chief information officer, chief operating officer, and chief executive of three major NHS hospitals. He also provided health policy advice to Tony Blair’s UK government as the head of the health advisory team in the Cabinet Office, and as policy adviser to the Secretary of State for Health.
