CAREier, the critical healthcare messaging innovator, today named Dr. Michael Hunt Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). In his new position, Dr. Hunt will be responsible for strategic product planning, informatics data mining, quality reporting and customer engagement.

Dr. Hunt combines an extensive background in medical informatics with experience as a practicing physician, bringing highly specialized expertise to the company.  He is highly skilled at connecting clinical, analytical, technological and consumer resources to enhance the relationships among patients and all members of the healthcare system.

Most recently, as senior vice president of clinical operations at Navvis, a national population health management corporation, Dr. Hunt led vision, strategy, and execution for all facets of clinical operations.  He launched information platforms that enabled patients to engage with coordinated team-based care and guided the implementation and administration of clinically integrated networks.

As CEO and president of St. Vincent’s Health Partners, Inc., Dr. Hunt introduced a series of improvements that resulted in substantial revenue growth and enabled a major investment in IT infrastructure. At St. Vincent’s, he also led configuration of the information platform and developed the team to operationalize medical management services for attributed populations in new models of reimbursement.

During his career, Dr. Hunt also has held IT- and operations-related leadership positions at St. Vincents Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT, and Mercy Health System in St. Louis, MO.
